Luo Ning is the director of Shaanxi Province Art Museum. He is a painter and art critic, and is currently a member of China Artists Association, Chinese Association of Art Museums Specialist Committee, and Shaanxi Province Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. He Is the deputy chair of Shaanxi Province Artists Association. Luo has had a long career in art management, and is a prolific researcher on Chinese figure paintings and art theory. He is a figure painter himself, and his unique realism has won him many domestic and international art prizes. Aside from his own monographs, he has also published collections of art criticism. In recent years he has been devoted to the research of museology and has curated regional exhibitions which have gained some recognition both at home and abroad, including “Plateau, Plateau: West China Art” and “Dialogue with Terra Cotta Warriors: European Union and Chinese Sculptures.”
