Mimi HaasMimi and Peter Haas Fund

    Mimi Haas is president of the Mimi and Peter Haas Fund, a position she has held since August 1981. In this role, Haas has been deeply committed to ensuring that low-income children and their families receive access to high-quality early care and education as well as health services in San Francisco. She has been steadfast in supporting programs that lay the emotional, physical, and intellectual foundation necessary for children to enter kindergarten ready to learn. Haas serves on the Board of Directors of Levi Strauss & Co. She is vice chair of the Board of Trustees and chair of the Committee on Painting and Sculpture at The Museum of Modern Art, New York; is vice chair of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; and serves on the Board of Trustees of Lincoln Center and MVYouth. She is a member of the National Advisory Board of the Haas Center for Public Service at Stanford University, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a member of the Global Philanthropists Circle. Haas was previously director of The Terry Sanford Institute for Public Policy, Duke University; the San Francisco Symphony; San Francisco University High School; Summerbridge National; and Children Now. Beginning January 1, 2015, Haas will be an inaugural fellow at the Stanford Distinguished Careers Institute.
